Inky, generous, fragrant.
From vineyards 1800 MASL, this value wine screams premium in it's hefty bottle. It was aged 12 months (70%) in French and American oak and the remainder in stainless steel.
Inky purple fruit aromas are woven with vanilla, violets, smoked spiced and bacon fat notes. It has an appealing sweet and fruity entry with smoke, spice, and dark chocolate flavours. Generous and mouthfilling it has good posture and balance overall.
Second review, Dec 2019: Spicy blackberries, plums and cocoa, espresso, black pepper and salty/umami notes lead to a concentrated and muscular palate with good balance, black fruits and brooding demeanor. The finish is long and spicy.
